Love in Ukraine

Hello fellow folks back home!

I’m Geraldine from Hope Church Singapore.



Just to share a little more about myself, I was in the social sector for the past 5 years, and I quit my job last year to do a missionary school with YWAM (Youth with A Mission) in South Africa. I was supposed to be doing outreach in Lebanon this coming month; however, my heart has been burning for the recent Ukrainian war.

As of today, 1.4 million refugees have been evacuated to the borders of Ukraine, and all the relief organizations nearby are overloaded and overworked, attending and swamped by the needs of the refugees. Many of the refugees are traumatized by the impact of war, where they witnessed death and encountered pain and separation. 

 

God has been revealing more and more about the land day by day as I pray. When you see a gap in a crisis like this, you fill it, and you respond with urgency. I didn’t feel a need to wait but to go. 

 

God has also dropped in me to bring people along. It occurs to me that there are people out there with a burning fire for His cause and Kingdom, and He wants to bring an army of prayer warriors and kingdom builders into the frontline of war and suffering. 

 

I’ve asked my friends in church and YWAM if they would go to the Ukraine borders with me, almost all of them said yes and felt strongly to head there. They have a burning fire in them to step up. Currently, the team comprises people from Hope Church Singapore, YWAM Singapore and believers from the UK. God is assembling His very own avengers, Generals, and Army Warriors to usher His presence in. They are a bunch of 25 to 35 years old, ready for war. 

 

We would be serving the refugees at the Ukraine borders, and I would be making my way down to Ukraine (Lviv). The situation there is chaotic no doubt, with 100,000 refugees running across the borders each day, every moment. The needs are dynamics and situations are unpredictable, and we are ready for that. I know it won’t be easy, in fact, really tough, but I know this is the time to share the message of Hope and His light, to be at the frontline of war with Jesus. I believe this is what He would do if He’s here too.

 

Join us in this mission with Christ and pray with us! Prayer pointers

1. For physical and spiritual protection over us. Spiritual warfare is pretty intense here. 


2. For God to give us wisdom to navigate tricky situations that we may enter into. The needs are dynamic and we would be constantly reacting to the different situation happening across the cities in Ukraine.

Making a move to South Africa

Only one life so soon it will pass Only what’s done for Christ will last Hi Folks! I  would be heading to South Africa for the next 6 months with YWAM Muizenberg. YWAM (Youth with a Mission) is a global movement driven by a passion to know God and make Him known. I'll be on their Engage and Embrace DTS (Disciple Training School);  spending 3 months in Capetown learning and training on reconciliation and restoration; and the next 3 months reaching out to the nations through the various Mercy Advocates/Ministries.  We would be engaging the community and refugees, developing water sources and strong families; and hoping to pierce the hold of gangsterism, addiction, and human trafficking.  God is eager to call others to Himself, especially those who have no knowledge of Him.
